Shoe cleaning machine – technical information

The CENTRUMO shoe cleaning machine is a self-service device for mechanically cleaning suitable sports and casual footwear. A single cycle combines water and detergent spraying, brushing, UV-C treatment, fragrance application and warm-air drying. This page summarises the manufacturer’s technical data, installation requirements and frequently asked questions. The binding design and equipment must be confirmed in the quotation for the specific delivery.

How the machine works

  1. The customer selects a programme on the 32-inch touchscreen and pays according to the configuration.
  2. They place a compatible pair of shoes in EU sizes 35–45 inside the compartment.
  3. The system sprays water and foaming detergent; industrial brushes mechanically clean the footwear surface.
  4. The machine performs UV-C treatment, applies fragrance if selected, and starts warm-air drying.
  5. Once the cycle is complete, the customer collects their shoes.

The approximate cycle time is 10–15 minutes, depending on settings. The manufacturer states an operating capacity of approximately 5 pairs per hour. Cleaning results depend on the material, the type and age of the dirt and the selected programme. Complete removal of all stains or restoration of the original appearance cannot be promised.

Technical values come from manufacturer documentation. For the final installation, verify the rating plate, electrical version, exact dimensions of the delivered unit and ordered equipment.

Cleaning and hygiene functions

Water, foam and brushes

The machine uses water, foaming detergent and mechanical brushes. This is actual wet cleaning of suitable footwear surfaces, rather than only disinfectant mist spraying as in helmet hygiene machines. The manufacturer describes foam coverage of the shoe upper and cleaning with multiple brushes.

UV-C treatment

The manufacturer specifies a UV-C LED module with a wavelength of 275 nm and power input of 18 W. However, the documentation does not provide verified microbiological efficacy for the specific cycle and materials. UV-C should therefore be described as part of hygiene treatment, rather than a guarantee of sterilisation or removal of all microorganisms.

Drying and fragrance

Drying uses airflow heated to 55–65 °C by a PTC heater. The actual degree of drying depends on the footwear material and initial moisture. The machine also has a 500 ml fragrance container; the manufacturer states a dose of about 2 ml per application, or approximately 250 applications per refill. Choose the fragrance with regard to the material and possible customer sensitivities.

Water, wastewater and consumables

The machine has built-in tanks for 30 l of clean water and 30 l of wastewater. According to the manufacturer, a full tank is sufficient for approximately 30 pairs of shoes. It can operate without a permanent water supply or drainage connection; the tanks must be manually filled and emptied. If connections are available on site, water supply and drainage can be arranged following a technical assessment. They are not required for basic operation.

The detergent tank holds 5 l. The manufacturer states consumption of approximately 25 ml per wash and more than 200 pairs per refill. Actual consumption depends on programme settings and intensity. The system monitors levels, stops operation and displays a warning when water is low or the wastewater tank is full.

Electrical and space requirements

Maximum power input is 3 750 W. For European voltages of 210–230 V, the manufacturer recommends a dedicated single-phase circuit with a 25 A type C circuit breaker, copper conductors of at least 4 mm² and a matching 25 A socket and plug. Residual-current protection is also recommended; according to the technical sheet, the machine has its own leakage-current and overload protection. Before installation, a qualified electrician must assess the connection according to local regulations and the rating plate of the supplied machine. A standard socket cannot automatically be considered sufficient without this verification.

The manufacturer recommends at least 60 cm of clearance at the side and 55 cm behind the machine for operation and servicing. Provide a level, load-bearing floor, sufficient room to open the doors, access to the tanks and a reliable data connection. The machine has castors; how it is secured on site must be determined for the specific installation.

Suitable footwear and limitations

The manufacturer specifies the machine for ordinary sports and casual footwear in EU sizes 35–45. Do not use it for high heels, boots, suede or delicate materials. Before cleaning, follow the footwear manufacturer’s instructions and check the suitability of the material, glued joints, colours and any electronics. Trial testing is recommended for uncertain materials. The machine is not intended to wash every type of footwear universally.

Payments, connectivity and remote management

Depending on configuration, the machine can be equipped with a Nayax card reader, banknote acceptor, coin acceptor or QR code payment. Exact payment methods, transaction fees and local availability must be confirmed in the quotation. The manufacturer specifies Android and remote monitoring of operation, revenue and advertising content. Available functions depend on the supplied software and data connection.

According to the technical sheet, a cycle already running will finish if the network connection fails. However, a new cycle cannot start and payment cannot be accepted until connectivity is restored. The manufacturer documentation does not describe a reliable automatic refund procedure if connectivity is lost during payment. Before starting paid operation, verify the behaviour of the specific payment configuration and the complaints procedure.

Maintenance and expected component service life

The operator regularly replenishes clean water, empties the wastewater tank, refills detergent and fragrance and cleans the working compartment. The manufacturer gives approximate service lives of 1 500–3 000 cycles for brushes, 10 000–20 000 hours for water pumps, 10 000–30 000 applications for the foam pump and 15 000–20 000 hours for stepper motors. These are estimates, not guaranteed service lives for individual parts.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to clean one pair?

Approximately 10–15 minutes, depending on programme settings. The manufacturer states a capacity of around five pairs per hour.

Does the machine need fixed water and drainage connections?

No. It has separate 30 l clean water and wastewater tanks. Connections can be assessed individually if available on site.

Which shoes can be cleaned?

Ordinary sports and casual footwear in EU sizes 35–45. High heels, boots, suede and delicate materials are unsuitable.

Will the machine remove every stain?

No. Results depend on the material and the nature and age of the dirt. The documentation does not justify promising complete stain removal or an as-new appearance.

Are shoes completely dry after the cycle?

The machine uses warm-air drying at 55–65 °C, but complete drying cannot be guaranteed for every material and initial footwear condition.

Does the machine have a disinfecting effect?

The process includes a UV-C module. The supplied documentation does not substantiate microbiological efficacy for the specific cycle; specific hygiene claims require further verification.

How much electricity and detergent does it use?

The manufacturer states approximately 0.34 kWh and 25 ml of detergent per cycle. Actual consumption may vary by programme.

What happens if the internet connection fails?

According to the technical sheet, the current cycle will finish. A new cycle and payment cannot begin until connectivity is restored.

What electrical connection is required?

For the full load of 3 750 W at 230 V, the manufacturer recommends a dedicated 25 A circuit with suitable wiring and socket. A qualified electrician must confirm the specific installation.

Can the machine be customised to the operator’s brand?

Graphic customisation, payments, interface languages and online management options are confirmed for each individual order.
